Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions explain how Mentor works, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from organizations and individuals using the platform. By subscribing to or using Mentor, you agree to these terms.

1. Your Content Belongs to You

Content that you or your organization upload, create, or add to Mentor—including courses, documents, videos, images, and other training materials—remains your property.

You retain ownership of your content. Mentor does not claim ownership of, or rights to, the content you provide.

Content you provide to Mentor is not exclusive to Mentor. You remain free to use, publish, license, distribute, or otherwise make that content available through your own website, YouTube, other learning platforms, behind a paywall, or through other channels.

We use your content only as needed to operate Mentor and provide the platform to you and your students. We will not copy, duplicate, or reuse your content for our own training programs, products, or other purposes without your express permission.

2. Your Students Have Unlimited Course Access

Each free course you add to Mentor can be taken by an unlimited number of students at no additional per-student cost.

Your organization is responsible for the content it provides through Mentor, including ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to use that content.

3. What Happens If You Leave Mentor

Mentor is a subscription-based service. While your subscription is active, your courses are available to the students you make them available to.

If you cancel your subscription or stop paying for the service, your courses will no longer be available to students through Mentor.

Your content remains yours. Ending your Mentor subscription does not transfer ownership of your content to Mentor.

To make it easier for organizations to return to Mentor in the future, we may retain your courses and other uploaded content in our backend for up to three years after your subscription ends, subject to available storage. During this period, your content will not be available to students unless you reactivate your Mentor subscription.

If you return to Mentor and resume your subscription during this period, we can make your existing courses available again rather than requiring you to rebuild them.

After three years, we may permanently delete content associated with an inactive account.

4. Admin Roles

Your Mentor subscription includes:
Gyms
  • 1 Manager seat
  • 1 Course Creator seat

Brands
  • 2 Course Creator seats

Additional admin seats are available for $49/month per seat.

Admin roles can be reassigned or changed upon request. The person assigned to a role can change without requiring a new subscription; the organization simply needs to remain within its allotted number of admin role subscriptions.

5. Content Review & Safety Standards

Mentor is intended to be a trusted source of climbing education and training. To maintain a high standard across the platform, Mentor may review content uploaded to the platform to ensure that it complies with these Terms & Conditions and meets our standards for appropriate, accurate, and responsible educational content.

As part of this review, Mentor may identify and temporarily disable content that appears to violate these Terms & Conditions or that could reasonably be interpreted as providing unsafe, misleading, or inappropriate guidance—particularly regarding climbing safety and personal protective equipment (PPE).

If we identify content that raises a safety or accuracy concern, we may temporarily remove or block it from student access while the concern is addressed. We will notify the organization that owns the content and, where appropriate, explain what needs to be changed.

The organization will have the opportunity to update or revise the content. Once the content has been updated to address the concern, Mentor may review it again and, if it meets our standards, return it to student access.

Mentor's review of content is intended to maintain the quality and safety of the platform. It does not constitute a guarantee that every course or piece of content is accurate, complete, or appropriate for every situation, and organizations remain responsible for the content they provide and for ensuring that it is appropriate for their intended audience.

6. Accounts & Account Security

Most Mentor features require an account. When creating or using an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled for all Mentor admin roles by default and is an available option for all users. Please keep your login credentials secure and do not share individual account credentials with people who are not authorized to use the account. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account.

If you believe someone has accessed your account without authorization, please let us know as soon as possible.

7. Using Mentor Responsibly

Mentor is intended for legitimate training and educational use. You agree not to use the platform to:
  • Upload or distribute unlawful, abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable content.
  • Impersonate another person or organization.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account or Mentor's systems.
  • Use Mentor to distribute spam or other unauthorized mass communications.
  • Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the platform.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or creates a risk to Mentor, our users, or the platform.

8. Intellectual Property

The Mentor platform itself—including its software, design, branding, logos, and Mentor-created content—is owned by Mentor or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Your use of Mentor does not give you ownership of the platform or Mentor's intellectual property.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or reuse Mentor's proprietary materials outside the platform without our written permission.

Likewise, these terms do not give Mentor ownership of the content you upload. Your content remains yours as described in Section 1.

9. Third-Party Content & Links

Mentor may contain links to websites, products, or services operated by third parties. Those sites are not controlled by Mentor, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.

Including a link does not mean that Mentor endorses or guarantees the third-party site or service.

10. Subscriptions, Pricing & Payment

Your subscription, pricing, billing frequency, and any applicable setup or other fees will be communicated when you purchase Mentor.

Prices may change from time to time. If a price change affects your existing subscription, we will provide reasonable notice before the new price takes effect.

Your subscription remains active as long as payments are made according to the applicable subscription terms.

If payment is not received, we may suspend access to the platform and/or the courses associated with the account.

11. Cancellation & Termination

You may cancel your Mentor subscription according to the cancellation terms associated with your subscription.

Mentor may suspend or terminate an account if you materially violate these Terms & Conditions, fail to pay for the service, misuse the platform, or create a security or legal risk.

When an account or subscription ends, access to Mentor and the courses associated with that account may be removed. As described above, your ownership of your content is not affected.

12. If Mentor Ceases Operations

If Mentor ceases operations or is no longer able to provide the Mentor platform, we will make reasonable efforts to provide organizations with an opportunity to retrieve their uploaded content before the platform is permanently discontinued.

Your content remains your property and does not become the property of Mentor simply because Mentor ceases operations.

If Mentor is acquired, sold, or transferred to another entity, your content may be transferred as part of the platform and its associated business assets. Any such transfer will not change your ownership of your content.

13. Providing the Mentor Service

We work to keep Mentor available, functional, and secure, and we aim to provide the service with reasonable care.

Because Mentor is an online service, however, we cannot guarantee that the platform will always be available, uninterrupted, or free from errors. Temporary interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control.

We will make reasonable efforts to address significant service issues when they arise.

14. No Guarantee of Specific Results

Mentor provides tools for training and education, but we do not guarantee any particular business, employee, operational, sales, or other results from using the platform.

The effectiveness of training depends on many factors outside of Mentor's control, including how organizations use the platform and how students engage with the training.

15. Privacy

Your use of Mentor is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

We use personal information primarily to provide and administer Mentor, process payments, communicate with you about your account and services, and operate the platform.

We will not sell your personal information or provide it to third parties for their own use without your express permission, except where disclosure is necessary to provide the services you have requested (such as processing payments), comply with a legal obligation, or protect the security and integrity of Mentor.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mentor will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Mentor platform.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.

17. Changes to Mentor or These Terms

Mentor may change, improve, or discontinue features of the platform from time to time.

We may also update these Terms & Conditions as our business, platform, or legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and provide notice when appropriate.

Your continued use of Mentor after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

18. No Waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms & Conditions, that does not mean we are giving up our right to enforce it later.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, together with any applicable subscription or order terms and our Privacy Policy, constitute the agreement between you and Mentor regarding your use of the platform.

They replace any previous versions of these Terms & Conditions unless we expressly state otherwise.
